Giving the Gift of Forever

Purrfected with Love

Every pet portrait is drawn with pure passion and attention to detail, from every whisker to every perked ear. Throughout the process, my goal is to capture the very essence and personality of each furbaby, feather child, or scale kid I illustrate, all in the hope of creating something you will love and cherish forever.

Simple is Better

Method Behind the Meow-dness

For the past few years, I have been crafting the method behind my process. While each illustration is handled with great care, the process is super simple. Our typical time frame ranges between 2-3 weeks, but is dependent on the amount of other portraits in the queue. The following steps are what to expect for the duration of your experience.

01

Provide a Photo
To get started, you will need to provide a high resolution photo of your beloved pet. This serves as the primary reference, so choose something that showcases their personality and is very detailed.

02

Choosing a Palette
After providing the best photo you can, you will need to choose a color palette. Select 3-4 colors to create a combination that reflects your favorites or that matches your decor.

03

Illustrating your Pet
Then, I will digitally draw your furkid with my handy dandy iPad + Apple Pencil. By doing it this way, the vector format allows for the final portrait to be printed at any size, from a stamp to a billboard.

04

Layering Like an Onion
Before shifting to the computer to make the color adjustments and resize the final files, I create layers that are just like an onion’s. These grayscale layers allow for easy color shifts.

05

Finalizing Your Masterpiece
Using Adobe Illustrator, I now put together the assortment of file variations that you will receive with your purchase of a single pet portrait. These include lineart, grayscale, colored, and the name poster.

06

Downloading and Sharing
Once all files are complete, I will send you a link to download all of the high res PDFs + JPGs. You have permission to reproduce these for personal gifts or usage. If you share on social media, please credit F&F.

Laura’s reaction: “OMG this is perfect! Why am I crying? I’m not crying… Thank you babe, this is a perfect gift. (Looks at Tennie) IT’S YOU!!!”

I tried something different and requested a portrait of a friend and his dog Basil for a birthday surprise and Fur and Feather did not disappoint! Steph caught the character of the photo perfectly and it was so true to the photo, it made the perfect birthday gift. I loved it so much I had portraits done of my two pups not long after and again their expressions were captured so well, I absolutely love having their goofy grins up on my wall.

I had been wanting to get portraits done of my cats for a while. When I came across someone on Instagram who had hired Fur and Feather, I loved the style! I am so grateful to have these two beautiful works. Not only is the artwork impeccable, Steph also captured their unique personalities.

I ordered a whopping 10 portraits from Fur and Feather for myself and could not have been more in love with how they turned out. I also gave a Fur and Feather piece as a Christmas gift. You will be absolutely star struck by the finished product!! Whether you’re looking to have a portrait done of a current pet (because you’re a crazy Dog Mom like me) or want a memento to honor your angel in heaven, this IS for you! Steph is fabulous to work with and you will never be disappointed by her work! I will continue to order from her again, and again, and again!
