How it All Began

The story of the birth of Fur and Feather is an unexpected one. It all started with rejection. In February of 2017, I illustrated a Belgian Malinois for a client at my day job. Despite liking it, they argued it was not what they had wanted and promptly disappeared without paying.

But I knew I was on to something… I posted it on my social media and the rest became history. Friends and family began reaching out; the word was beginning to spread. Interests were being piqued even before Fur and Feather had a name! Just as suddenly as everything began, I received an offer from the Humane Society of Harrisburg to be a vendor at their annual event. This led to the development of what is known as Fur and Feather today.

Meet the Founder + Artist

Hey! My name is Steph Perez and I am the mastermind behind Fur and Feather. I work full time as a Graphic and Web Designer alongside owning and operating this labor of love.

Since I was in elementary school, I have always been obsessed with animals, especially dogs. I would spend hours reading books and watching Animal Planet. At the same time, I was always passionate about art. At 11 years old, I could never have imagined combining two of the biggest passions of my youth to create something unique as an adult.

I bought two portraits from Fur and Feather as a surprise for my boyfriend, and it was probably one of the best gifts ever!! We both still enjoy it every day! What I love most about it, is that it is such a badass and unique style! The art from Jack and John both captures their characteristics beautifully! When I wasn’t sure about the color she gave me more examples with different colors to just get it perfect! If I could rate this art it would definitely be a 10 out of 10!! Not only the art but also the person behind this beautiful company are truly wonderful!!

With the help of Instagram, the world has become a much smaller place! F&F has grown well beyond Central PA. It has become a national and international presence with 24 states and 7 countries under its belt. Check out our current list of states and countries below!
